“Have a go” day for adult beginners aged 27 and up
Anyone aged 27 – 70 years with an interest in learning to row is invited for a free session to learn the basics of the rowing stroke on an indoor rowing machine before putting your new found skills to test on the water!
Free session: Sunday 1 July 2018
9:30am to 11:30am
This session will be held at the Club (104 Kings Road, Panmure). Be sure to bring fitted sports clothes suitable for rowing (shorts, warm (polypropylene?) top, t-shirt, trainers and socks) as well as a pair of “reef” shoes for when you walk through mud to get on the water.
For those who wish to continue on and complete the Learn to Row programme, there’ll be 10 sessions covering on-water and off-water training. This programme is designed get you comfortable and skilled in handling and rowing a boat. The cost of the 10-session programme is $200 which would be deducted from club annual subs for the 2018/19 season should you then go on to join the St George’s Masters rowing group.
The first three of these sessions will take place on Tues 3rd and 10th and Thurs 5th and 12th July with remaining sessions to be arranged at times to suit the group.
